PLEASE NOTE – There is a problem on the website at the moment, it is not sending me “sales” emails, I only get PayPal emails, so please ensure I have the correct delivery address, which should actually be the PayPal address anyway so that buyer/seller protection is valid.

CONTACTING ME:- If you have to contact me with any problems about your purchase please use the Contact Form, I am sure I can sort out any concerns you may have.

POSTAGE:- All items are sent using “Signed For” or “International Signed For” postage with the appropiate insurance. The calculated rate that appears on the basket page is as accurate as I can get it with the tools provided. Postage depends on the weight, size and value of the item. For some items that are heavier or bulkier, shipping to the UK, EU and Rest of World may involve other carriers (Hermes, UPS, DHL etc), to be advised. High postage costs are not down to the seller, (Royal Mail has increased postage charges in March 2020, September 2020, Jan. 2021, some by quite large percentages, in April 2022, April 2023, again, some by quite a large percentage), and October 2023 (only for some UK rates), and again April 2024 (some International rates by 10%), they are down to the post office (& other carriers) and the cost of packing materials increasing, and other relevant costs, forever increasing, I do try and keep shipping costs down. Any weights shown includes an allowance for packing materials.

As of April 2024 I was going to use the new “Tracked 48 plus Signature” service, but the Post Office and Royal Mail are argueing over something to do with this service, as a result this service is not available to use at the moment, even though it appears in the new price guide and in the new “Our Services” booklet. I am still going to start using 2nd class services to keep postage costs down a bit, unless the purchase falls in the Special Delivery category of course. I still reserve the right to use other methods of posting/shipping, mostly depending on size.

MULTIPLE ITEMS:-  If you are interested in more than one item you can either pay all the postage and I’ll refund any excess, or you can let me know before payment which items are of interest and I can send you a coupon code that reduces the postage on the cart. Any coupons would only be valid for the items as discussed and for a limited time.

USING THE CHECKOUT PAGE:- When selecting method of payment, be advised that the large black mark will be against the payment option that you do not want, you need to look for the smaller purple circle for your preferred payment method. It should default to PayPal.

PAYMENT – UK:- For UK bidders I will accept PayPal, British POSTAL ORDERS & STERLING CHEQUES drawn on a UK bank, made out to R J Laycock, allow time for cheques to clear, at least 5 working days. If you are sending me money/payment or I have sent you a PayPal Payment request, DO NOT use Friends & Family to send payment.

PAYMENT – outside the UK:- PayPal is accepted. If you are sending me money/payment or I have sent you a PayPal Payment request, DO NOT use Friends & Family to send the payment. I do not accept IBAN/BIC payments from outside of the UK. I will accept Sterling cheques drawn on a British Bank, made out to R J Laycock.
DESPATCH:- Items sent as soon as possible after funds have cleared, be advised I do not normally get to the post office on Mondays or Thursdays. If I’m going to an event on a Saturday I usually can’t post on Saturdays either.
INTERNATIONAL:- The buyer is responsible for all local import, customs duties and VAT where applicable. Please do not ask me to put a lower value on any customs declaration form, it will not happen. At the moment there seems to be problems with some postage/customs, particularly with Germany and Netherlands.
DESCRIPTION:- The odd mistake/oversight may happen. When buying you should get the item in the photo, in the case of my having more than one in stock, the photo will be representative only. If a box is included it will be shown in the photo and should be described. If an item has motor(s) it may benefit from a service/oil before any serious use. It is the responsibility of the buyer to read the terms and conditions, the description, and to view the photograph, to ensure the item meets the buyers requirements.
RETURNS:- If the item(s) are significantly not as described you may return them for a full refund. Remember that the photograph is part of the description.
